YAY Rizzoli Black Carl Isles Galore

I'm a fan of Rizzoli & Isles. No Doubt. So, I knew there was going to be a season one dvd released and . I kept an eye on it on Amazon in order to get it in my hands as soon as it was released. So...I was keeping an eye out for sales via Amazon and at Best Buy. The DVD never went below $26.99.

I am an admitted twitter fiend. I follow the cast and crew of RI and most of the characters, too. So, the official twitter acct was going to have a contest the Monday before the DVD release. A twitter contest...yay. That was something I could participate in while still being in work. The contest day arrived. All we had to do was RT a noon tweet. No problem there. Right at noon, the tweet to be retweeted came out. So, of course, I RT'd the particularly long tweet. I figured there was no way I was going to win. Assuming that there was about 70% of their followers who were going to participate. About 4500 followers that day, 70% participation, I ventured a guess at about 3000 RTs would be coming their way. At least 1k entries based on time of the tweet and followers around the world. So, when I got the DM that I had actually won a copy of the DVDs, I was floored. So much so, that I don't think I stopped smiling for hours afterwards.

This was great news. I sent in my info and I am waiting for the DVDs. But, I knew I wouldn't get the DVDs in time to start my viewing pleasure on release day as planned. I figured I would have to buy another copy in order to pull an all nighter and get my RI fix.

By release day, I haven't ordered it and I knew I wanted it for my viewing that night. I ran over to Best Buy after work and grabbed my copy. It just so happened to be the last copy at the store, too. Made me smile! I had messed up the dates, but Black Carl, Dry River Yacht Club and What Laura Says were going to play a CD release show for another local band, WhisperLights. I had already talked to Bro S about going. I took an RI break and ventured out to cut a rug.

They were playing at a place called the Duce. I really like that place. Only problem is that the Duce doesn't have any air conditioning. None. We got there a little late. WLS was already playing. I caught a couple of their songs I really enjoy. The next and last band was Black Carl. They were awesome! The heat and humidity really lit a fire under them because a few of their songs were the best performances of those songs that I've seen them perform. Yes, I am biased because I so love the band...but this was awesome! I jumped, shimmied and wiggled around in pure delight. So worth the price of admission.

Back at home, I tried very hard to stay up all night to watch the entire series. I made it through a few when I determined that I would never get through the entire series and make it to work on time. I skipped the remaining episodes and went through the Special Features.

I was super glad I did. The gag reel was hilarious. So funny. The Scooby Doo moment and spontaneous dancing was probably the best parts.

hilarious. Well, stayed up as long as I could. Note to self: I am too old to be trying stunts like that.

The next day, Wednesday, I was burned out. I had to run out in the afternoon to do a caffeine run. I swung by Starbucks for an Americano to push me through the rest of the day.

In the end, I'm glad I'm still crazy enough to try stunts like this. I did have a load of fun at the Black Carl show and a riot with the gag reel was too much fun. I'm still going through the episodes.
